Leiden Pride is a growing non-profit organisation, searching for energetic board and team members to fill a wide variety of vacancies. Open applications are also welcome, if you want to help out but feel like you are not fit within our current vacancies. Purpose: As a marketing team coordinator, you align your team’s activities with the work of the events team. You are aware of what your team is working on and offer support, advice, and help to ensure that cooperation between teams runs smoothly and follows Leiden Pride values and guidelines. 

Location: Meetings online through Slack. Physical headquarters at Plexus, Leiden. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Be aware of the processes of your team and how it affects the organisation.
  • Be proactive in helping your team set and meet expectations and goals.
  • Prepare team meetings as necessary. 
  • Stay in the loop by keeping in contact with the other team’s coordinator and by attending board meetings.
  • Help ensure continuity within your team in terms of organisational culture and values.

Example of a week in the life of a marketing team coordinator: 

  • Coordinate with events team to discuss upcoming promotion campaigns (20 minutes)
  • Coordinate with team members to discuss and divide tasks (30 minutes)
  • Create graphics and prepare posts (30 minutes)
  • Be proactive in quality control, and communicate with stakeholders on specific campaigns (10 minutes)
  • Coordinate with other teams (blog and bookclub) for upcoming promotions (20 minutes)
  • Help with interactivity on social media (15 minutes)

Length of appointment: There is a one-month trial period where you can explore the team coordinator position and get familiarised with the organisation. You are expected to attend meetings during this time and be proactive in terms of learning what your position entails. After the trial month ends you will discuss and set personal and professional expectations and goals with a board member. 

Time commitment: On average 2-4 hours a week, days are flexible.

Qualifications: 

  • You are proficient in English.
  • You do not necessarily have specific management skills but are willing to learn.
  • You value clear and active communication concerning administration, efficiency, problem solving, and delegation.
  • You are interested in coordination and leadership, from facilitating interactions between the teams, to encouraging participatory, democratic processes.
  • You have an affinity for either marketing AND/OR design. 
  • You are interested in learning how to use different business communication and lean management platforms, such as Slack and Trello.

Compensation: This is a volunteer position. As a non-profit, we rely on donations to run our organisation and organise our events. We offer remuneration for expenses made on behalf of Leiden Pride, but at this time we can not offer any further financial compensation.

Purpose: As a board trainee, you work alongside board members to learn required skills and gain experience in managing a non-profit organisation like Leiden Pride.

Location: Meetings online through Slack. Physical headquarters at Plexus, Leiden. 

Key responsibilities: As board trainee your main responsibility will be to train with the board. Depending on the position you are aiming for, such as the Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Team Leader, or Team Coordinator, your tasks can include, but are not limited to:

  • Chair / Vice-Chair trainee: Learn how to arrange board meetings, prepare meeting agendas.
  • Secretary trainee: Learn how to write up minutes of meetings, streamline our external communication channels.
  • Treasurer trainee: Learn how to process reimbursement claims, review budgets for events, help create the annual financial overview.
  • Team coordinator trainee:Learn how to manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the team with the rest of the organisation, offer support, and advice.

Example of a week in the life of a board trainee:

  • Learn how to use our platforms e.g. Use Doodle to schedule meetings, process tasks on Trello, find documents in our Google Drive, etc (20 minutes)
  • Learn about our internal processes, e.g. depending on which board position you’d like to take, reviewing previous meeting minutes and prepare new agendas, understanding budget proposals, etc (30 minutes)
  • Attend board and team meetings to get familiarised with organisation (60 minutes)

  • You are interested in coordination and leadership, from facilitating interactions between the teams, to encouraging participatory, democratic processes.
  • You are interested in learning how to use different business communication and lean management platforms, such as Slack and Trello.

  • heb je een interesse in het organiseren van evenementen, van symposia tot series van lezingen, tot karaoke feestjes en workshops.
  • ben je niet onder de indruk van het werken met deadlines en het bijhouden van een wekelijks digitaal rapport.
  • can allot 2-4 hours a week to: attending and preparing for meetings, streamlining any correspondence concerning the event, updating your ongoing digital report and making sure that all its organisational requirements are met.
  • Kan je deze extra ervaring met trots op je CV plaatsen.

We bieden wel vergoeding aan voor uitgaven gemaakt namens Leiden Pride, maar op dit moment kunnen we geen verdere financiële compensatie bieden.

Als onderdeel van ons Communications & Marketing team

  • waardeer je duidelijke en actieve communicatie met sprekers en teamleden over dingen als management, probleemoplossing, en het delegeren van werk.
  • ben je vloeiend in Engels (in het bijzonder geschreven Engels).
  • have an interest in marketing and promotion, from sharing posts and contributing to our brand, to coming up with marketing campaigns and innovative ways to promote our events.
  • are adept with social media and keeping our digital channels up-to-date.
  • can allot 2-4 hours a week to: attending and preparing for meetings, writing posts for our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram), managing blog posts on our website, managing the distribution of event information, or creating posters and banners for physical and digital use.

We streven ernaar om onze evenementen zoveel mogelijk gratis te houden, maar helaas kost het runnen van onze organisatie en onze evenementen toch geld. Als non-profitorganisatie zijn we volledig afhankelijk van donaties en sponsoring van leden van onze gemeenschap.
